I often face a great deal of confusion when I talk to people about Corporate Housing (aka Temporary Accommodations). Here, we clarify the many uses of Corporate Housing and discuss why SIRVA feels it can be a better option when compared to a typical hotel stay.
Affordable. Corporate housing stays are defined as 30 days or more. The rates can be considerably less expensive than a long term stay in a hotel; this is especially true in major cities like New York.
Temporary. Corporate housing is a great way to “try out” an area before you purchase a home or lease a long-term rental.
Home away from home. Corporate housing allows you to “live like a native,” with a stable and less transient atmosphere.
More space. Generally, corporate apartments are equipped with a fully functional kitchen and a laundry room; while a hotel is generally one room and does not provide a “home away from home” atmosphere.
Amenities. Little things can make a big difference. Courtyards, gyms and business centers are standard in most properties where corporate housing is provided.
Flexible. Corporate housing allows you the ability to stay for long or short term assignments. And, it’s available for uses beyond business including traveling nurse and doctor programs, interns, victims of natural disasters and even film production crews.
